India to contribute with millions to technological progress

New Delhi, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India's contribution of $25 million to the Social Impact Fund to accelerate Digital Public Infrastructure in the Global South.

In his keynote address at the third Global South Summit, Modi identified the technology gap and related economic and social challenges among other concerns affecting these nations.

He said that global governance and financial institutions created in the last century have not been able to solve the current problems.

He pointed out that the third Global South Summit is taking place today when uncertainty reigns worldwide with the threat of Covid and the challenge of wars and development.

The Indian head of government added that humanity is also facing climate change, health, food, and energy insecurity, and the serious threats posed by terrorism, extremism, and separatism.

In this regard, India’s Prime Minister called for unity in one voice and strength to the countries of the Global South.

He also advocated learning from each other’s experiences and sharing skills to jointly achieve the goals and give recognition to the people of the Global South, who represent two-thirds of humanity.
