Venezuela’s TSJ sets off technical examination of electoral material

Caracas, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) has set off the technical examination of all the electoral material compiled as part of the contentious electoral appeal presented by President Nicolas Maduro.

The Court’s President Caryslia Rodriguez told Venezolana de Television details of the process that includes a group of experts in electoral matters “with the highest national and international technical and scientific standards.”

The senior magistrate assured that this will guarantee the “maximum level of legal technical excellence” and will be done directly, personally and daily during the whole process.

Rodriguez underscored that the examination is underway, consisting on experts supervising, controling and evaluating the material in the hands of the Electoral Chamber, and safeguarded by the National Electoral Council.

The aforesaid documents were delivered by the Electoral Power, the political organizations and former presidential candidates of July 28 election; as the Supreme Court of Justice had subpoenaed all affidavits they had regarding the electoral process.

The Electoral Chamber of the TSJ in use of its broadest powers of investigation in the search for truth and justice, acts in accordance with articles 7, 12 and 14 of the Code of Civil Procedure, and making reference to article 98 of the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice.
