The fair’s venue is at the Olof Palme Convention Center in the capital, with over 120 technology distributors and pharmaceutical companies attending, “El 19” website informed.
On its opening, the head of the Military Medical Corps, Colonel Marco Antonio Salas, stated that the fair is an open window for the entire medical and health local community, as he stressed the importance of keeping up to date on technological in the field of medicine.
“But the most important asset for every institution are its highly qualified human resources, together with technology and modern infrastructure,” added Salas recalling the event is being attended by students from the country’s Faculties of Medical Sciences.
Referring to Artificial Intelligence, he said that it bears a heavy weight on the samples of technology displayed at the fair.
Nicaraguan Minister of Health Martha Reyes for her part stressed the event’s relevance in the modernization of the country’s healthcare system and noted that some of the fair’s exhibits are now available at different hospitals, especially those recently provided with high technology.
“It is a way of complying with the priority established by the Government to restore the right to comprehensive and quality healthcare; and quality includes the training of healthcare workers, in addition to the availability of the latest technology to ensure the diagnostic and care of patients,” she indicated.
