“We call on trade unions, fronts, staffs, movements, solidarity committees and citizens to rally against this brutal genocide led by Zionism and the great powers,” the call referred.

The march will start on Thursday, August 22 at 16:30 local time from El Arbolito Park, in downtown Quito, to the Israeli Embassy in this capital to protest against this “barbarism managed by the great imperialist interests, with a clear intention to lead us to a scenario of global confrontation.”

That mobilization and other actions of solidarity from Ecuador with the Palestinian people will take place amid the fierce offensive unleashed by Tel Aviv in response to the Al-Qasa Operation that the Hamas Palestinian Resistance Movement mounted on October 7, 2023.

In retaliation, Israel has been waging a war on Hamas and civilians in the Gaza Strip, as it has been dropping a series of shellings on the enclave disregarding whether fatal victims represent civilians or the Palestinian political movement. Hence, so far Israeli genocidal forces have claimed over 40,000 lives, of whom almost 70 percent are women and children, in addition they have injured over 92,400 people.
