“After the events with these drones, we tightened control on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. In addition, we deployed parts of our Army there,” Lukashenko said at a meeting devoted to security, quoted by Belta agency.
The president also asked the military to inform him about the situation on the border.
On August 9, a group of drones launched from Ukraine crossed the border into Belarus and was shot down by the country’s air defense systems.
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, another group of UAVs headed from Ukraine towards the territory of Russia.
The Belarusian leader branded the drone attack a provocation, adding that “no provocation will go unanswered.”
