The Pakistani official called the ties deep and historic, and reiterated Pakistan´s support for Syria during the war.
The diplomat praised the firmness of the Syrian people and considered that Syria will return to its rightful place and that the truth always wins. “The world realizes the magnitude of the grave injustice committed against Syria and its people, and we are all witnesses of the change in vision and way of thinking towards Damascus,” he said.
The Pakistani ambassador indicated that bilateral cooperation witnessed progress in recent years, including agreements being signed in various fields of economy, defense, information technology and tourism.
For his part, the Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Hassan Qatna, stated that relations between the two countries were strengthened thanks to the common principles they share in the face of global challenges and outside military and political interference in internal affairs.
The minister thanked Pakistan for its support of Syria’s right to defend its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and in the fight against terrorism.
