Through his profile on the social network X, Aguiar informed that he met with the representative of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) and the Truck Drivers Union, Pablo Moyano, with whom he agreed to call for a new general strike.
The CGT and ATE leaders analyzed the current context, marked by a socioeconomic crisis that deteriorates the quality of life of the citizens, and assured that the conditions exist to carry out new joint protests.
¨The Government’s adjustment does not distinguish between public and private. It destroys all workers and retirees.¨
The Basic Law is full of anti-worker provisions that the big bosses will take advantage of to raise their profit rates’, asserted Aguiar.
He further denounced the intentions to limit all types of union action.
‘There are less and less people convinced in the present sacrifice for the future welfare proposed by the Government.
Most of them accept that there will be no light at the end of the tunnel.
We cannot allow the Executive to succeed in its strategy to repress and provoke fear.
We must show that we are willing to confront’, he added.
In turn, Moyano accused the country’s leadership of attacking wage earners with a policy promoted by the International Monetary Fund that only serves for the adjustment.
In view of such scenario, he highlighted the need to strengthen the unity of all trade union and social organizations.
