In particular, two Tu-95MS strategic bombers of the Russian Aerospace Force’s long-range aviation carried out a scheduled flight of more than four hours in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian seas, the military entity detailed in its Telegram channel.
The ships were accompanied on this mission by MiG-31 fighter jets.
In addition, two Tu-22 bombers flew over “the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea” for about five hours and were accompanied by two Russian Su-30SM and Su-27 fighters.
The note notes that on both occasions “at certain stages of the route, the strategic bombers were escorted by aircraft of foreign countries.”
According to the text, Russian Aerospace Force aircraft regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and the Black and Baltic seas.
These missions are carried out in strict accordance with international norms for the use of airspace without violating the borders of other states.
