The processes include sexual abuse, mistreatment, statutory rape, child pornography, and homosexual acts on minors.
There were also registrations of abuse through technological means, violation of the duty of care, and failure to comply with child support, to the detriment of children.
According to the records of the Open Data Platform of the Prosecutor’s Office, of the total number of cases, eight to nine victims were attended per day for sexual abuse.
From the overall figure, 1,840 victims of rape and 936 victims of mistreatment of minors and adolescents under guardianship were filed.
In addition, 455 cases of statutory rape, 2,181 cases of pornography, five cases of abuse by technological means and the same number of homosexual crimes were registered.
Likewise, 1,256 cases of violation of the duty of care or education and 4,804 complaints of failure to comply with the legal duty to provide food were also notified.
Regarding sexual abuse of children, there was an upturn in the number of occurrences between April (300), May (300), June (292) and July (248).
Up to July, 1,840 cases of sexual abuse of children were evaluated, namely, the Central department takes the lead with a total of 736 recorded procedures, followed by Alto Parana with 205, Asuncion 156, and Itapua 101.
