The initiative, embodied in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi, acknowledges the MSMEs’ critical role in promoting inclusive growth, expanding exports, and boosting employment, official sources indicated.
Signed by S.C.L. Das, secretary of the Indian Ministry, and Isabel Casillas, head of the US Small Business Administration (SBA), the agreement also enables the organization of programs for women in the sector and business partnerships between women-owned companies.
It also allows for the exchange of specialized knowledge between the two parties on issues related to improving the participation of MSMEs in the global market.
In previous days, Casillas and her accompanying delegation visited the Innovations for Excellence Center of the Department of Defense Production, known as IDEX-DIO, where she visited an exhibition and interacted with Amit Satija, Assistant Secretary of the Department.
Both sides also lauded the INDUS-X (India-US Defence Acceleration Ecosystem) initiative, which, they said, is strengthening the technology partnership and bilateral industrial cooperation.
