According to national television, the military equipment was confiscated in a subway depot on a farm east of the city of Al-Rastan. Among the weapons seized were automatic rifles, RPG shells, machine guns, anti-armor missiles, ammunition boxes, explosive charges and guided missiles.
The Syrian Armed and Security Forces found weapons and ammunition, some American and Israeli, at different times during the war in extremists’ headquarters and barracks, in evidence of the support they were receiving from abroad.
The latest batch of confiscated war material was last July in the province of Deraa in the south of the country and included hundreds of rifles, dozens of RPG launchers, heavy machine guns, anti-armor missiles, anti-tank mines, as well as telecommunication devices.
