Cuban Deputy Prime Minister arrives in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo, Aug 13 ( Prensa Latina) The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, arrived in this capital to attend the inauguration of re-elected Dominican President, Luis Abinader, which will take place next Friday.

The Cuban delegation to the inauguration is also made up by Ydael Pérez Brito, Minister of Agriculture, Rafael Dausá Céspedes, General Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Cuban Ambassador to this Caribbean nation, Angel Arzuaga Reyes.

Upon his arrival at Las Americas International Airport around 10:00 local time, Fonseca was received by Juan José Porto Real, chief of staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Arzuaga Reyes.

Cuba and the Dominican Republic established relations on April 16, 1998, following the visit of historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to this territory.

Both nations are united in history by a relationship of friendship and solidarity.
