Previously, the head of Culture had highlighted on his profile that “today is the 75th birthday of Carlos Alfonso, great Cuban musician, founder of Síntesis, one of the most original and innovative groups in our musical panorama: a true living legend.”
Alonso highlighted his admiration for this bold maestro. Congratulations, dear Carlos. A big hug, he said in his post on X.
The relevant Cuban musician is a singer, bassist, composer, director and founder of the group Síntesis.
He has more than 150 compositions, which include instrumental music and songs, the great majority of which are recorded and published on all the albums (more than a dozen) of the group he leads. Among other merits, Carlos Alfonso received the Distinction for National Culture for the work carried out since 1979 leading the group Síntesis.
He obtained the diploma for artistic Merit awarded by the rector of the Higher Institute of Art; also the Distinction and Medal Alejo Carpentier in the cultural field.
