Since the moment of the shooting down, the defense units have been searching for the destroyed targets. It is suspected that they were attacking drones that violated Belarusian airspace and came from Ukraine, the head of State told BelTA.

Lukashenko said the Belarusian air force and air defense systems had been put on high alert.

The statesman explained, “We suspect it is not the first time that the Ukrainian armed forces break the norms of behavior and violate the airspace of the Republic of Belarus near the Kostiukhovichi district, Mogilev region.”

Lukashenko added that the air defense forces were vigilant to intercept the targets. There were a dozen of them. Airplanes and helicopters took off. Several rocket launchers were also put on high alert.
