Through the social network X, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, expressed solidarity and support to the Colombian president.

Velásquez confirmed this Thursday the existence of reports that alerted about an alleged plan to make an attempt on President Petro’s life last July 20.

“There was information regarding that, of an attempt, details which I am not going to mention”, the minister responded to a question from a journalist in this capital, after participating in an accountability of the sector during the two years of the current government.

Last July 20, the President of the country was absent from the beginning of the military parade in commemoration of the Independence of Colombia and only attended two hours later than the scheduled time.

Velásquez pointed out that the State intelligence agencies, at all levels, maintain within their activities a priority attention to the security of the president.
