Recently, the media reported that members of LLA visited Alfredo Astiz, Raúl Guglielminetti, Carlos Suárez (son), Antonio Pernías and Adolfo Donda, among others tried and imprisoned for kidnapping, torturing, murdering and disappearing thousands of people, including children.
The visit to these genocides was strongly criticized by unions, politicians, legislators and former President Cristina Fernandez, who warned about the intentions of filing an appeal for their release.
After that fact, UP deputy Gisela Marziotta presented a draft resolution to exclude Beltrán Benedit, Guillermo Montenegro, Alida Ferreyra, Lourdes Arrieta, María Fernanda Araujo and Rocío Bonacci, all members of LLA, the formation led by president Javier Milei, from the lower house of Congress.
Marziotta’s proposal is supported by 27 deputies and is added to another one that raises the need to create a commission to investigate what happened.
The UP member will reiterate this day the request to analyze the issue and her project states that the visit to the genocides is extremely serious. Representatives selected by popular election and members of a legislative body visited and promoted repressors who attempted against democracy and took part in crimes against humanity that included kidnappings, tortures and disappearances of compatriots’, warns the document.
