Russia puts Kiev’s casualties in Kursk province at 260

Moscow, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) Up to 260 military personnel and 50 armored vehicles were lost by Ukrainian troops, in one day, during the attack on the Russian province of Kursk, bordering Ukraine, reported today the Ministry of Defense.

The enemy’s losses during the day of fighting, in addition to the troops, were also 50 units of armored vehicles, including seven tanks, eight armored personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles, and 31 armored fighting vehicles, the statement said.

According to the military agency, the Russian military prevented the Ukrainian soldiers from advancing into the country.

The operation to eliminate the formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is continuing, the ministry said, specifying that the Russian Army units and the border authorities of the Federal Security Service were still fighting the enemy troops in areas close to the border.

The Russian Armed Forces also defeated reserves of the Ukrainian troops in several localities of the Sumi oblast, bordering the Kursk oblast.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported in advance that up to 300 Ukrainian troops, supported by 11 tanks and 20 armored vehicles attacked the Kursk oblast from Tuesday night to Wednesday.

The chairman of the Russian Investigation Committee, Alexandr Bastrikin, ordered the opening of a criminal case for the attack on the region and specified that residential and administrative buildings were targeted, along with civilian infrastructure facilities.

According to the data of the Russian Ministry of Health, 13 persons, including three children, were hospitalized as a result of the Ukrainian shelling.
