A message delivered in Havana by its director and editor, Uruguayan Julio Cesar Debali, emphasizes the importance of this event, as it already has a space among the world’s nature and adventure travel specialists.
The note points out the attraction for the MERCOSUR magazine’s readers of Cuban themes, especially those related to ecology and active vacationing. The magazine is edited in Uruguay.
Such a publication encourages participation in TURNAT by highlighting the strength and opportunities that Cuba has to develop Nature, Adventure, and Rural Tourism.
The editor writes that the 14th edition of TURNAT will be held in Cuba on September 24-29, 2024, to motivate and promote recreation, education, and environmental culture, using the patrimonial, cultural, and natural values, from an environmentally sustainable viewpoint.
Debali interviewed Francisco Longino Franquiz Dominguez, Director of Events and Incentives at Ecotur Travel Agency, entity organizing the meeting.
The interview took place during Debali’s last visit to Cuba in June to attend an international seminar on journalism and tourism at the Jose Marti International Institute of Journalism in Havana.
The Ecotur representative stated that the event will be held in the southeast Cuban provinces of Granma, Santiago, and Guantanamo. This time, all travel agencies, tour operators, and promoters of ecotourism in Cuba have been called to visit Cuba.
The meeting is organized into six groups dedicated to agrotourism, hiking, jeep safari tours, navigation, accessible tourism, and walks.
