Van Giang’s remark came after receiving his Japanese counterpart, Kihara Minoru, to whom he proposed to take cooperation in this sector to a new level of development, in line with the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world. The Vietnamese defense minister particularly praised the ties between the two departments in areas such as post-war rehabilitation, training, military medicine, rescue and recovery, and participation in UN peacekeeping missions.
VNA informed that General Phan suggested intensifying the exchange of delegations and contacts at all levels, maintaining the annual mechanisms for dialogue and consultation between the two sides, and strengthening military cooperation in the defense industry and technology transfer, among other aspects.
Meanwhile, the Japanese defense minister affirmed that his visit to Vietnam will deepen the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world, established in 2023, including cooperation in this field.
