Lebanon demands to stop Israeli attacks and threats

Beirut, Aug 6 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon's interim Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, renewed today his call to the international community to demand Israel to stop its attacks and threats against the Levantine nation and to implement Resolution 1701.

The Lebanese cabinet chief emphasized that last week’s Israeli aggression on Beirut’s southern suburb increased the complexities of the existing situation and reinforced fears of confrontations on the ground that would push things towards an all-out war.

In light of the international contacts and meetings, Mikati called for the need to exert pressure on Israel, to avoid deterioration of the situation and further confrontation.

According to the government’s X account, Mikati said that the Israeli threats against the country fall within the framework of psychological warfare against the Lebanese.

On this point, he regretted how some contribute to this enemy purpose by talking about the dates of the attacks and justifying their objectives.

In this regard, he stressed that the key to the solution lies in a cease-fire of Israeli attacks and the end of aggression against the Palestinian people and giving them their legitimate rights.
