The recovery campaign in North Pyongyang and Jagang provinces is being carried out in accordance with a resolution of the Political Bureau of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the personal instructions of its General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
Command posts have been set up in these areas for the flow and distribution of relief supplies, primarily medical aid and food, in accordance with the strategy laid down by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Among the many ministries involved in the mission, the Agriculture Ministry is in charge of draining the plantations flooded by the floodwaters and of cultivating them again as soon as possible.
Numerous provinces have already sent material and human aid to the devastated areas.
On Monday, in response to a call from the WPK, a regiment of militants left Pyongyang to support restoration work in the devastated areas.
