Türkiye recommended its citizens to stop traveling to Lebanon

Ankara, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Türkiye today asked its citizens to suspend their trips to Lebanon, in view of the tensions that have arisen in recent days after the death of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.

The text, posted on the Foreign Ministry’s website, warns that ‘due to the recent developments in our region, there is a possibility that the security situation in Lebanon may deteriorate rapidly’.

It also said that Turkish citizens should avoid traveling to the Middle Eastern country unless absolutely necessary and recommended caution about visiting southern provinces such as Nabatiye, Beca or Baalbek-Hermel.

It also recommends departure, while commercial flights continue, for those who do not need to remain in the country.

The United States, France, Spain, Argentina and Saudi Arabia issued similar statements, due to the expected escalation of violence after the death of the head of the Lebanese Hezbollah party-militia, Fuad Sukr, and of the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniye.
