Russian friends of the Foreign Ministry, representatives of companies, artists, intellectuals, ambassadors and officials of the diplomatic corps accredited in Moscow, accompanied the Bolivian ambassador Maria Luisa Ramos together with students and residents of the Andean nation in such an important historical date.

In her speech addressed to those attending the event, the plenipotentiary of La Paz recounted the exploits and unjust confrontations experienced by the Bolivians during long years of struggle against the Spanish colony.

Likewise, she highlighted how at present they still persist in the battle to rescue the access to the sea, limited after the conflict with Chile.

The maritime confinement that my country suffers is an issue that still worries and occupies us.

Our government, headed by President Luis Alberto Arce, is convinced that Bolivia and Chile can talk to each other.

They must talk as brotherly countries, because there are many issues that unite us’, Ramos said.

Bolivia is not indifferent to what is happening in the world.

The attempts of a group of countries with military economic power to dictate rules and impose governments is unacceptable, said the diplomat.

In this sense, she condemned the unilateral sanctions outside the United Nations, which, in her opinion, only seek to punish and intimidate the States and citizens of nations that wish to live in peace, without impositions.

The blatant interference in countries that do not accept impositions is unacceptable.

Bolivia a few weeks ago was the victim of an attempted coup d’état bravely rejected by the Bolivian people, and it is worth the opportunity to thank the moral support expressed by the Government of the Russian Federation’, he said.

Ramos also commented on the strategic relations that are being consolidated between Moscow and La Paz, based on mutual respect and trust, with common challenges and hopes.

For his part, Alexander Shchetinin, director of the Latin American department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, extended his congratulations for the commemoration, which he described as a history of courageous struggle for freedom, progress and genuine autonomy.

He also recounted the bilateral ties, which will soon be 126 years old, and praised the economic, commercial and political ties, giving as an example the early conclusion of the Nuclear Research Center, located in the Bolivian city of El Alto, the only one of its kind in South America.

Conmemoran en Rusia 199 aniversario de independencia de Bolivia

Moscú, 5 ago (Prensa Latina) El aniversario 199 de la independencia de Bolivia se conmemoró hoy aquí en el monumento dedicado al Libertador Simón Bolívar, en un acto organizado por la embajada del país sudamericano en Rusia.

Amigos rusos del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, representantes de empresas, artistas, intelectuales, embajadores y funcionarios del cuerpo diplomático acreditado en Moscú, acompañaron a la embajadora boliviana María Luisa Ramos junto a estudiantes y residentes de la nación andina en tan importante fecha histórica.

En su discurso a los presentes la plenipotenciaria de La Paz hizo un recuento de las hazañas e injustas confrontaciones vividas por los bolivianos durante largos años de lucha frente a la colonia española.

Asimismo, resaltó cómo en la actualidad aún persisten en la batalla por rescatar el acceso al mar, limitado tras el conflicto con Chile.

‘El enclaustramiento marítimo que sufre mi país es un tema que aún nos preocupa y nos ocupa. Nuestro Gobierno a la cabeza del presidente Luis Alberto Arce, está convencido de que Bolivia y Chile pueden dialogar.

Deben dialogar como países hermanos, pues existen muchos temas que nos unen’, precisó Ramos.

Bolivia no es indiferente a lo que ocurre en el mundo.

Los intentos de un grupo de países con poder económico militar de dictar reglas e imponer gobiernos es inaceptable, refirió la diplomática.

En ese sentido, condenó las sanciones unilaterales al margen de las Naciones Unidas, que, a su juicio, solo buscan castigar y amedrentar a los Estados y ciudadanos de naciones que desean vivir en paz, sin imposiciones.

‘La injerencia descarada que se ejecuta en países que no aceptan imposiciones es inaceptable.

Bolivia hace unas pocas semanas atrás fue víctima de un intento de golpe de Estado rechazado valientemente por el pueblo boliviano, y valga la oportunidad para agradecer el apoyo moral expresado por el Gobierno de la Federación de Rusia’, acotó.

Ramos comentó además las relaciones estratégicas que se consolidan entre Moscú y La Paz, basadas en el respeto y confianza mutua, con desafíos y esperanzas comunes.

Por su parte, el director del departamento de América Latina de la Cancillería rusa, Alexander Shchetinin, hizo extensivas las felicitaciones por la conmemoración, la cual calificó de una historia de combate valiente por la libertad, el progreso y la autonomía genuina.

Igualmente, realizó un recuento de los nexos bilaterales los cuales arriban próximamente a los 126 años, y exaltó los lazos económicos, comerciales y políticos, poniendo como ejemplo la pronta conclusión del Centro de Investigación Nuclear, ubicado en la ciudad boliviana de El Alto, único de su tipo en Sudamérica.
