Receiving an emergency health donation at Rafic Hariri airport, he stressed that such actions constitute a violation of international law and norms, especially the Geneva Convention which provides for the protection, respect and safety of health workers during armed conflict.

Speaking to the press, Al-Abyad called for holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring the full protection of medical teams striving to save lives in extremely difficult circumstances.

In response to a question, he said that the Israeli enemy continues with its attacks and has no limits, according to the National News Agency.

In this regard, the minister emphasized the importance of raising the preparedness of the health sector in light of the threats of war and indicated that Israeli crimes against civilians fuel the expansion of the conflict. A second shipment with supplies and medicines for the most vulnerable areas is due to arrive this week, according to the Lebanese official.

Expressing his gratitude for the international aid, Al-Abyad called to exert all efforts and put pressure on the Israeli entity to stop its attacks and avoid further casualties.

At the welcoming ceremony, the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in the country, Abdinasir Abubakar, highlighted the work with the Lebanese Ministry and other partners to facilitate and ensure that these supplies are ready for any eventuality.

At the same time, the WHO official reaffirmed the international agency’s support for Lebanon and all health sector workers.
