Large foreign presence at Russian Children’s Cultural Forum

Moscow, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) Brazil, China, Syria and other countries plan to send dozens of talented teenagers to the 3rd International Children's Cultural Forum to be held in Russia, Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said today.

The minister told the Sputnik news agency that the forum will be held from August 22 to 24 at the Palace of Pioneers in Moscow. This year, over two thousand talented children aged 12 to 17 from 89 regions of Russia will come, some of them will be our guests from abroad. We are expecting our young friends from India, Egypt, Serbia, Belarus, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Lyubimova said.

In addition, young people from Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Transnistria, Syria and Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Jordan and Libya plan to participate, the minister said.

According to the minister, more than 60 events will be held within the framework of the forum, in particular, master classes, dialogues with cultural figures, lectures, seminars, as well as many excursions.

“I really want the children to have a proper rest and meet new friends, and, of course, that the program has some elements of training, of additional education,” she stressed.

Lyubimova added that the six creative areas at the event will be: Theatre and circus, Choreography, Literature and journalism, Museums and Fine Arts, Cinema and animation, as well as Music. In addition, the final of the “Competition of children’s initiatives” in the sphere of culture and art will be held at the forum. The finalists will show their original designs and receive feedback. The winner will receive financial support for their project from the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

Also among the special formats of the forum I will highlight the hackathon Digitalization in culture. The participants will have to recreate the theme of how cultural institutions can change in the future with the help of digital technologies, the director concluded.
