F-16 fighter jets transferred to Romanian border to base in Ukraine

Kiev, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The F-16 fighter jets transferred to Ukraine will be based at the Limanskoye airfield in the Odesa region, the Condottiero Telegram channel informed on Monday.

According to the message, a British Airbus A330 Stratotanker military aircraft landed in Constanta, Romania, on Sunday, and will refuel the F-16s taking off for the Limanskoye base, where President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived to receive the fighter jets.

The note also pointed out that US Patriot anti-aircraft systems and two IRIS-T have been delivered to the airfield for protection.

Zelensky noted that Kiev had received the first batch of F-16 fighter jets from Western partners earlier.

Russian military expert Mikhail Onufrienko said those planes will not change the balance of power in the Northern Military District, as they will be destroyed in the same way as Abrams and Leopard tanks.
