“President Maduro promised to pay a visit to Belarus. This was announced. We are waiting for him in October or November if the agenda of both presidents allows it,” Golovchenko declared in Belarus 1 television channel broadcast.
The authority also pointed out that the Belarusians are waiting for a visit by the president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega. “We have excellent relations with [Nicaragua]. We also hope to see the head of state of (…) this year,” he added.
Earlier, Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko congratulated his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro on his election victory and expressed hope that the two leaders would meet before the end of the year.
Golovchenko made an official visit to Venezuela and Nicaragua in mid-July.
