During the operation, eight foreigners were arrested – two Ecuadorians and six Mexicans – who were about to carry out a transaction of 1,550 kilos of the drug. The president published this on Sunday on his social network account X.
The report noted that the National Navy detected the first boat with three Mexicans who were holding a radio beacon, a GPS and communication device, and coordinates written down in a notebook.
“Two days later, at that coordinate, a second boat was found with two Ecuadorians carrying 1,550 kilos of cocaine,” the president said, and later a third boat was located with three more Mexicans.
He indicated that the drugs seized were valued at 38.7 million dollars and as a result of the operation three boats were captured.
Bukele recognized the work of the Trident National Force in the fight against drug trafficking and the seizure of 8.1 tons of drugs in the last 80 days, with a value of 203.8 million dollars.
