Pres. Maduro gives full account of violent crimes

Caracas, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro gave full account of the acts of vandalism and terrorism that the far right has been perpetrating since last Monday in Caracas and in the 23 states of the country.

The head of State provided a press briefing at the Miraflores Palace, seat of the Executive, which was broadcasted on radio and TV.

Firstly, Maduro listed a number of actions of criminal groups that destroyed and burned down 12 university buildings, seven high schools, 250 police centers and posts, three hospitals, in addition to six Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers, one high technology healthcare center, 30 ambulatory centers, one community radio station, 11 recently recovered Caracas subway stations, one train and 38 bus units.

Likewise, the president referred that the puppets of the fascist far right had taken down 27 monuments and statues of Simon Bolivar and Hugo Chavez.

Furthermore, the vandals had set fire to ten headquarters of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) even with people inside, a sewage center and the San Jacinto barracks in the northern Aragua state.

Maduro noted that ten regional headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE) had been under flames and that the far right thugs tried to shattered the Council’s national headquarters in Caracas.

The head of State commented that the President of the CNE Elvis Amoroso had saved the lives of 60 international observers who were attacked with bullets in the tent installed there, and so those terrorists were repelled by the Bolivarian National Guard.

Among other claims, Maduro pointed out that the criminal gangs of the alias tiny commands launched two volleys to assault the Miraflores Palace, tore down public squares and struck even the zoo of Maracay, Aragua northern state.

The president stressed that so far the Prosecutor’s Office has enabled VenApp by means of which, they had taken up over 5,000 denunciations of threats against social and popular grassroots leaders, so the cases are being investigated, dealt with and won’t go unpunished, Maduro asserted.

As a result of these violent and criminal aggression, the leader underscored that a number of passers-by had been killed, 120 police officers had been injured and “two soldiers had been criminally and viciously murdered,” to whose relatives and children he conveyed his condolences.

He further informed that 70% of those arrested in the last days for their involvement in terrorist crimes were migrants trained in Texas and returned to Venezuela as part of the agreements with the United States.
