El Aloui’s remark came during the recent celebration of the Feast of the Throne, Morocco’s national holiday, when he reaffirmed his country’s willingness to initiate actions in favor of Cuba, allowing it to benefit from its experience in agriculture and tourism.
The ambassador referred to the significant role the throne and the monarchy have in the Moroccan State, as a symbol of its sovereignty and guarantor of its unity.
The diplomat stressed that this new anniversary reflects the solidity and firmness of the ties that bind the Moroccan people to the throne.
El Aloui also considered that the celebration was the ideal opportunity to pay tribute to and recognize a visionary and unifying sovereign.
Cuba and Morocco restored diplomatic relations at the level of ambassadors in April 2017, after 37 years of rupture decreed by the Moroccan Government on April 22, 1980, due to Cuba’s recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
