Government aims to put an end to chronic blackout in Haiti

Port-au-Prince, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) The Haitian government aims today to improve the generation and distribution of electricity in the country, where blackouts are already a common problem.

It is a goal set by the Prime Minister, Garry Conille, when he visited the plants of E-Power S.A., located in the municipality of Cité Soleil, in the West Department.

Conille had a meeting with the owners of the company to whom he explained that the problem of electricity in Haiti has several dimensions, but for him it is a fundamental issue.

We must have a joint vision on the collaboration between the private and public sectors to solve this situation that has become chronic over the years.

The main objective -Conille insisted as quoted by local media- is to improve access to electricity for all Haitians in the short term, and to see renewable energies as another option.
