In a press release to the international community, the WIDF expressed that a delegation led by its president, Lorena Peña Mendoza, participated as an observer in the elections, in which candidate Nicolas Maduro won with 51.20 percent of the votes.
It underscored that it verified on-site the holding of these elections, in which its results “established, without any doubt, that candidate Nicolas Maduro Moros was elected as a president with a lead of more than seven points over his closest opponent.”
It also rejected the campaign of lies and violence unleashed by the far-right fascist forces in and outside Venezuela to incite insecurity and chaos, “a campaign that has already caused deaths and a considerable injured, and destroyed public and private infrastructure.”
The FDIM expressed rejection of the “alleged interference of governments and international organizations, including the OAS, which have no legal power or the moral authority to decide on the Venezuelan people’s sovereign will.
It also congratulated President Nicolas Maduro on his resounding victory, which will allow Venezuela to continue to be a country of free men and women.
