Pushed by the war between the president of the Sovereign Transitional Council (CST), General Abdel Fattah al Burhan, the head of the Rapid Deployment Forces (RSF), General Mphamed Hamdan Dagalo, millions of Sudanese fled their homes and took refue in makeshift camps in their country and neighboring states.
Another epicenter of the drama is Al Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, and the theater of operations and for months besieged by the militiamen of the RSF and defended by the troops of the Army, loyal to the CST.
At least, 20 percent of the displaced people in Zamzam suffer from extreme shortage of food and face death by starvation, according to the FRC report, supported by UN data.
The humanitarian organization pointed that the rest of the region and its nearly 800,000 inhabitants are at risk of famine and all indicators show are that they will soon join the IDPs in El Fasher, Abu Shuk and Al Salam if the CST and the RSF do not reach a humanitarian pathway for the passage of vital supplies.
