The FSB press release referred that on August 1, 2024, eight Russian citizens detained and imprisoned in several Western countries, as well as minors, had been returned to their homeland as a result of a swap deal.
According to the security agency, these citizens had been accused abroad of collaborating with Russian intelligence, although their guilt had never been proven.
The Russian citizens had been swapped for a group of persons acting in the interests of foreign States to the detriment of the security of the Russian Federation, the press release added.
Moscow is “completely satisfied” with such a swap and thanks foreign partners for their cooperation, the FSB unfolded.
Those citizens favored by the swap deal are: Anna and Artyom Dultsev, Vadim Krasikov, Pavel Rubtsov, Vadim Konoshchenok, Mikhail Mikushin, Roman Selezniov and Vladislav Kliushin, a high-ranking source in one of the state departments detailed.
