Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo told local media about the arrival of the Chinese ship Sunny Fortune, which sailed from Tianjin, in the port of Corinto on Wednesday.

“And this ship has arrived from the port of Tianjin, China, inaugurating precisely that direct maritime and commercial route to advance trade relations between Nicaragua and China,” Murillo stressed.

The vice president added that the inauguration ceremony of this trade route will be attended by government and local authorities, Chinese Ambassador to Nicaragua Cheng Xi, and shipping and customs officials.

According to the Sandinista leader, they are also working to receive equipment and materials to be used in the construction of the Punta Huete International Airport, an important project that Nicaragua is developing in conjunction with a Chinese company.
