According to reports, search and rescue efforts are continuing after roads, electricity and communications were restored in all eight municipalities and cities most severely affected by the typhoon.

Gaemi left more than 1.2 million people affected in Hunan, as well as 127,000 hectares of crops damaged.

According to local authorities, 96,500 people remain evacuated and the region is maintaining active emergency response protocols for floods and possible geological disasters.

The provincial rescue center deployed four helicopters to participate in relief operations in this city, one of the areas severely affected by the rains.

Since the beginning of this year, extreme weather frequently affected several regions of the country and many places have been hit by natural disasters.

Finance Ministry sources assured that the Chinese Government has allocated 1.5 billion yuan (more than 208 million dollars) so far this year to support local governments in disaster reduction and relief work.
