During the 7th round of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka bilateral political consultations in this capital, both countries’ delegations expressed satisfaction with their relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen them for the benefit of their peoples, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) informed.
In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, both sides agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation and appreciated the convergence of views on global issues, the source indicated.
They also reviewed the spectrum of their relations, and talked about trade, economic cooperation, defense and security, education, parliamentary exchanges, culture, media, and sports, APP stated.
The delegations agreed on increasing bilateral trade to improve economic growth and air connectivity between the two countries.
After the meeting, the Sri Lankan delegation handed over the Pakistani group five eye corneas donated by the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, in keeping, in this regard, with the longstanding tradition between the two nations.
