The state-run KCNA reported on the event, which marked the end of a week-ling stay of a Russian children’s delegation at the famous facility.
Several speakers noted that the Russian children’s visit came less than one and a half month after President Vladimir Putin’s visit to the DPRK at the invitation of its top leader, Kim Jong Un.
On that occasion, the two presidents signed a Strategic Partnership Treaty and witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements to strengthen bilateral relations, which they described as strategic.
The Russian children said they had very happy memories of their stay at the camp and had the opportunity to strengthen friendship with their young DPRK hosts, feelings which were reflected in a letter to Kim Jong Un.
The Songdowon International Children’s Camp is located near the port city of Wonsan, on the East Sea coast, and has previously welcomed children from several countries.
