On a press briefing from the Federal Legislative Palace, the senior lawmaker informed that as from 2:00 p.m. local time, from the four cardinal points of the capital, the people will go out in large marches towards the Miraflores Palace, the seat of the Government.
Rodriguez stressed that these rallies would be for celebrating the victory of the candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole, but mainly, to defend the peace of the Republic. The president of the National Assembly further urged “all the forces of the Venezuelan revolutionary people to carry out big marches in their cities and states.”
The head of Parliament assured there will be a massive participation, thousands will be present from all the cardinal points that went out on the closing day of the electoral campaign, on July 25 to crowd all the avenues of this capital city, he insisted.
The authority remarked that they are heading to Miraflores to “defend our right to life, to freedom and, mostly, to defend the results of the election”, in which candidate Nicolas Maduro reached 51.20% of ballots, with 80% of the electoral machines counted.
The leader of the United Socialist Party also stated that this was an electoral campaign characterized by “the exchange and meeting of nine of its candidates with their followers,” while the tenth candidate was organizing his rioting forces for July 29.
“We also exist, and we are the majority, and that is why we are going to the streets to defend peace,” he underscored.
All these acts of violence that have been attempted on Monday as a focus in the capital city and other parts of the country, we won’t allow, and they will be deactivated with the use of the resources that the Constitution and the laws allow, he asserted.
