Senegal’s Navy announces mass rescue of undocumented migrants

Dakar, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The Senegalese Navy on Tuesday announced what can be the largest rescue of undocumented migrants since the exodus of nationals from African states and other countries to the European chimera began.

The rescue operation of two boats took place: one with 189 frustrated travelers on board, in the vicinity of the Langue de Barbarie peninsula, according to a report from the Senegalese Navy posted on social networks.

According to the first register, those rescued are of Senegalese and Gambian nationality.

However, the largest number of undocumented persons, 213, were traveling on a second vessel intercepted in an area that is 200 kilometers off the town of San Luis.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens from South Saharan States, West Asia and the Levant migrate to Europe fleeing conflicts, but above all from the deprivation left by the colonial governments of the European metropolis when they were forced to cede the sovereignty of their countries in the second half of last century.
