International observers recognize solidity of Venezuela’s CNE

Caracas, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) International observers who participated in the presidential elections on July 28th in Venezuela, recognized the solidity of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The experts issued a five-point statement highlighting the CNE’s delivery of the results, which “cleared the attempted violation of the process through a cyber attack that was intended to generate uncertainty.” They also mentioned what they called the “valuable work” of the Electoral Branch in guaranteeing the holding of elections nationwide, through an electoral mechanism with “the highest standards of transparency and auditability, placing it as one of the best in the world.”

The observers from 107 countries congratulated the Venezuelan people for carrying out “this democratic electoral process that has been a true example of participation, civility and transparency”, as well as President Nicolás Maduro and the Great Patriotic Pole for the “resounding victory for peace, the future and happiness of the Venezuelan people.”

The declaration called on the international community to support the Venezuelan democratic process and to condemn the attempts at destabilization and violence generated by the Venezuelan, global, and imperial extreme right “for the peace, dignity, and sovereignty of the people.”

More than 900 international observers arrived in Venezuela to monitor the presidential elections this Sunday, in which Nicolás Maduro was the winner with 51.20 percent of the votes.
