Russell Manzanero, leader of the health sector, explained that the increase in the incidence of patients is a global trend and Belize does not escape this situation. Due to the lack of frequent samplings, according to Manzanero, the current number of infections is higher than those reported.

The specialist explained that given the increase of tourists in his country, there is an unusual number of respiratory diseases, including Covid-19.

So far, he said, there have been no hospitalizations, but the vulnerable population may be affected by this trend.

Manzanero emphasized the need for preventive measures to protect the groups at risk and encouraged the population to go to the vaccination centers set up in the country.
