At a regular press conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian underlined the friendship and support between the two countries.
The diplomat recalled that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and emphasized the great importance that China grants to the development of its ties with Venezuela.
China is willing to work with Venezuela to enrich the content of the comprehensive strategic partnership continuously at all times and in all trials between the two countries, Lin added.
The president of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, informed on Monday that the candidate from the Great Patriotic Pole, Nicolás Maduro, had won the presidential elections with 51.20 percent of the votes.
He explained that 5,150,092 people voted for the current head of State, while his closest follower was the opponent from the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo González, who won 44.2 percent of the votes of 4,445,978 voters.
Amoroso noted that these results correspond to 80 percent of the data transmission corresponding to the first bulletin, a figure which marks “a conclusive and irreversible trend.”
