The gathering was held at the Uruguayan Parliament, with the participation of Rolando Julio Rensoli, secretary of the Executive Coordination Group of the Cuban National Program against Racism and Racial Discrimination.
Other attendees were Maritza Barrios and Idelsi Alfonso, coordinators of the Neighborhood Network of Afro-descendants in Cuba.
The Cuban representatives are invited to the Lagrima Rios Festival, which pays tribute to an iconic figure of Uruguayan society and includes lectures, exhibitions, and musical concerts by emblematic artists, such as Ruben Rada.
Rensoli explained the measures implemented by Cuba against racial discrimination, on the understanding that public policies require updates about an issue of principle of the Cuban Revolution.
