Meanwhile, Putin noted that the talks with Al-Assad were an opportunity to examine all possible developments and scenarios in light of the increasingly tense conditions in the Middle East.

The Kremlin leader revealed that there are promising opportunities for economic and trade relations between Damascus and Moscow.

Syria and Russia commemorated in July the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations where the presidents of the two countries ratified their strategic partnership.
