Paris, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is hosting the Ministerial Forum "Changing the Game" on Wednesday to discuss the role of sport as a driving force for sustainable development.

The meeting seeks to take advantage of the context of the Paris 2024 Olympics, which opens on Friday, and the presence of ministers, managers, athletes, and prominent sports figures in this capital.

The multilateral agency stated that the aim is to discuss the construction of a more equitable and sustainable sports legacy.

Speaking at the one-day event are UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, French Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera, and President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Dennis Francis, the two latter by video message.

The fight against racism and discrimination, the role of physical education teachers, and gender equality are among the issues under discussion in the diverse panels. International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons, and the sports directors of Canada, Carla Qualtrough, and Chile, Jaime Pizarro, will speak at the event’s closing ceremony.
