We would like to warn Seoul against any hasty steps that could further raise tensions on the peninsula, and we do not think this will enhance South Korea’s security, the diplomat told TASS news agency.
The deputy minister called on South Korean partners to “assess soberly the current situation on the peninsula and focus primarily on its security interests rather than on those of third countries.”
Rudenko also noted that Seoul’s attempts to blackmail Moscow over its cooperation with Pyongyang were unacceptable.
Comparing the conflict over Ukraine to the 1950-53 Korean War, South Korean officials described Moscow’s actions as an aggression. Such language of blackmail and threats against the Russian Federation is categorically unacceptable, he reiterated.
