Rodriguez expressed Cuba’s willingness to strengthen political-diplomatic ties, and highlighted the historic relations of brotherhood that unite both nations, according to a press release from the Cuban Embassy in Addis Ababa.
He also thanked Ethiopia for its traditional support for the Cuban resolution against the US blockade, which is approved every year at the United Nations General Assembly, and its support for the resolution of the African Union to put end that criminal policy.
The Cuban diplomat welcomed the request from the continental organization to remove Cuba from the spurious list US State Department on countries that sponsor terrorism.
As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between both Ministries of Foreign Affairs on Bilateral Consultations.
Other members of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Ethiopia attended the meeting.
