Macron confirms that Paris is ready to host the Olympics

Paris, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Monday that Paris is ready to host the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.

We are ready and we will be ready throughout the Games, the president underscored during a visit to the Olympic Village, where he inaugurated the police station and a firehouse.

Macron stressed that years of work had gone into the success of the Olympics, which Paris will host for the third time in history after the 1900 and 1924 editions.

A decisive week is ahead with the opening of the Olympics on Friday, followed by the development of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, said the president, who was accompanied by Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin and Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera.

The head of State promised to return to Saint-Denis, the site of the Olympic Village, to see the legacy of the games and the changes they have brought.

More than 10,500 athletes will compete in 43 sports during the world event.
