Armenia welcomes EU decision to liberalize visas

Yerevan, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) The Armenian Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, supported the decision of the European Union (EU) to dialogue with his country for visa liberalization, the spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalian, said.

We welcome the historic decisions of the EU at the level of foreign ministers on assistance to Armenia in the context of the European Peace Support Fund and the beginning of the dialogue on visa liberalization, Badalyan told the Armenpress news agency, quoting Minister Mirzoyan.

According to the Armenian Foreign Minister, it is a very important stage in deepening cooperation between Armenia and the EU, based on common values and principles, and a similar vision for stability, peace, and prosperity.

Last week, it was reported that the EU gave the green light to the European Commission’s proposal to launch negotiations on visa liberalization with Armenia.
